Resolutions and roadblocks

The New Year came in nice and calm for me. I opted to get up with the dog when she did her "wake my humans" act instead of pretending to be too sleepy to notice the 63 lb dog bouncing the bed. Turned out to be a good choice too! Oh she did her thing, that was never in question, but I came in to a quiet house.................. kids were all asleep, husband had gone back to sleep, animals were all fed which calmed them down and got them off my back for a bit. So I made some coffee and fixed myself some Christmas bread and cuddled down in the big chair with my quilt and a brand new notebook to take stock of what I want to accomplish this coming year. I listed goals for health, and goals for quilting and goals for mental health. What a great way to spend 3 hours on a quiet winter morning. I felt pretty virtuous too, I even walked on the treadmill in the afternoon. I did good with healthy eating for 2 entire days! (baby steps, right?)
Then it happened.
Family get together today.
My evil sister in law made truffles....................
I tried to fend them off with carrot sticks and cucumber slices. I worked with pretzel sticks. I mowed down a plate of fruit salad, still the truffles called to me.
Alas, I am weak. I succumbed. I succumbed very well.
I succumbed 4 times and they are still calling to me................. I tried drowning the memory of them in an Old Fashioned. No luck, they are still calling.
I will have to resort to desperate measures. I will have to have Jim hide them on me.
sigh.

You are so funny. I can feel your pain! I never met a truffle I didn't like

If I ever had a truffle I don't remember it, but then I'm a man and I probably called it a Snickers bar or fish sticks.

We're like that.

Go for it/them.

Just stand up when you eat them! Then they don't count! You know about that, don't you?
